SS Doric (II)
The Ship
Built in 1922 by Harland and Wolff. In 1935 she was in collision off Portugal with the French vessel 'Formigny' ,temporally repaired in Spain she left for the UK where the decision to scrap her was made as the cost of repairing her fully was considered to high. These were the depression years and she had been taken of the Liverpool - Canada passenger trade in 1932 and put onto the more profitable cruise trade up until her collision. |
