HMS Asia, launched in 1824 as a 2nd rate battleship. In 1831 It was at Lisbon under the comand of Captain Hyde Parker, then Captain Peter Richards, from 1836-1841 in the Mediterrean and off Syria under Captain William Fisher, under Captain Robert Fanshawe Stopford, the Asia was in the Pacific in the late 1840's.

HMS Asia carried the flag of the Admiral Superintendant of Portsmouth from April 1862 through to 1905.
