HMS Contest, built by Cammell Laird & Co. Ltd, Birkenhead, launched 1st December 1894. Banshee Class Torpedo Boat destroyer distinguished by the funnels which were further aft than usual due to the Engine Room being sited between the two boiler rooms. Her displacement was 290 tons, compliment 53. armament was one 12 pounder plus two torpedo Tubes. Spent most of its service life in Home waters.
