Lindy and Martin Lovegrove

Bean - mostly a burmese but perhaps with a bit of siamese thrown in.  Travelled back from Hong Kong and lived out her life in England.

Poor old Suzy pup, in her grey days.

This was taken when I was on TV with Suzy pup.  She had won an obedience class at a dog show.  Blue Peter or what!!!  Note the obligatory school uniform - Maryknoll Sisters School.

Sherlock was one of a pair of Great Danes I owned whilst living in Isleham (Cambs).  I went to buy a black female Dane I called Freya but when I saw the 'runt' of the litter - I could not resist him.  Sherlock was deaf, had 2 'wall' eyes and suffered from tunnel vision in both eyes - but he was gorgeous - so I had to have them both.  He grew up into a huge dog - as you can see from this picture with him standing on his back legs 'talking' to my Uncle Bob (look at the size of his feet against my Uncle's hands!)  Freya lived to a ripe old age, but Sherlock was stung in one of his eyes by a wasp when he was about 3 years old.  Despite several trips to the vet and lots of tender loving care - he was eventually put to sleep to save his suffering.  But he had a good life ... 3 years he might otherwise not have had .... I would love another Dane .... oh Martin .....????

This is my Dad - holding a little Tibetan Terrier dog we had in Hong Kong.  Roger was really sweet, but he had two bad habits.  The first was that he used to chew everything, especially it seemed, my toys!  I don't think I had any farm animals that weren't missing legs or tails where he had chewed them!  The second REALLY bad habit was that he was a bit of a rogue and loved escaping.  This was his downfall - one day he disappeared and we never saw him again.

Judy and our first cat - Poakey Sing.  I found Poakey Sing tied to a chair in a restaurant near the beach.  She was so tiny and helpless.  I asked to take her for a walk - and I never took her back.  She lived with the family to a ripe old age.  In this picture you can see she is still a kitten, contentedly sitting in the sun with her best friend Judy. Judy went to Hong Kong with us but after a few years she had a bad accident - falling off a bridge and damaging her back.  For a while she had a set of wheels that she used to pull herself along on - but she didn't survive for long after the accident.

Another picture of Judy before her accident.

Jenny with Jason.  Jason was a rescued dog but unfortunately he was very protective of the house and had to be re-homed when he kept taking bites at the postman!

This is a picture of Ben as a puppy with my mum in their garden.  Ben is a Bernese Mountain dog.

And this is Mutto.  Her name is actually Josie, but she is commonly called Mutto or just Mutt.  She loves her 'babies' and has a huge variety of soft toys that she walks about with all the time.  Josie was about 9 months old when we got her from a dogs home in Norwich.  She is a lovely girl, but obedient - not!!!

This is Josie with Christopher.  They adore each other and Josie's life is complete when he comes around to see us.

Peri the parrot and Naughty Tortie (Pashtacat Koko Loco).  You would think Tortie is eyeing up her dinner - but actually she never makes a move on Peri.

This was Lulubelle Flupsy Bunny - known as Fluppo or Fluppy (came from the children not being able to say puppy).  She was a really big St Bernard, and she lived to a ripe old age.  Unfortunately she was not all that friendly with strangers, but with the family she was great.  Daniel especially was very close to Fluppy when he was younger and I used to regularly find her in his bed, with him hanging off the side.

Below is Peri Parrot.  He can bark, tell the dog to be quiet, do the time pips and lots of other things.  Luckily he does not swear - yet!  Leave Big Brother on though and he might start!
